Nearby Airports

The closest major airport is Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), just east of downtown Boston and about 18 miles from Babson College.

If you're willing to rent a car at the airport, other possibilities include  T.F. Green Airport (PVD) near Providence, Rhode Island (about one hour from campus) or Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) in Manchester, NH (also about one hour from campus).   Southwest Airlines does not fly into Logan, but does fly into TF Green or Manchester.

Transportation from Logan Airport to Babson College

Unfortunately, there is no easy, quick, cheap way to get from Logan to Babson College (you can achieve two of the three attributes, but not all three).

Here are your primary options:

1.  Take an airport taxi directly to Babson College. The fare will be about $50 plus tip. Depending on traffic, it will take about 25 minutes to one hour (at rush hour).  This is probably your most flexible, straightforward way to get to campus.

2.  Take the Logan Express to Framingham. This is a little cheaper but takes about twice as much time, as you have to take the bus all the way out to Framingham (about 12 miles west of Babson College) and then backtrack by local  taxi to Babson College.   Check out the Logan Express Website for more information. This full-sized bus picks up passengers at all terminals every half hour (6:30 a.m. to midnight, Monday-Saturday, and 1 p.m. to midnight on Sunday), and every hour (7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday). One-way bus fair is $12, and the taxi ride from Framingham to Babson College will be about $25 plus tip (see local taxis below, as they may not be waiting at the Logan Express Terminal in Framingham).  Total travel time will be about 60-90 minutes.

3.  Take the "T".   This the cheapest option, but it will require you to transfer from bus to subway to local taxi. Allow about 90 minutes for the total trip.  Take the free shuttle bus from the terminal to the MBTA Airport subway stop. Take the Blue Line inbound four stops to Government Center. Walk upstairs and take the Green Line outbound Riverside D train to Woodland, the next to last stop on the D line.  The fare is $1.25. Then, from Woodland, take a local taxi to Babson College. (See area taxis below.).  It's likely there will bea couple taxis waiting at the Riverside T-stop, but no guarantees.  The taxi fare will be about $15 plus tip.

4. Take the Zebra Airport Shuttle.  Unfortunately, there is no regular, organized shuttle transportation between Logan and Babson College.  One can make reservations with Zebra Shuttle, who does transport passengers from Logan to western suburbs (including Wellesley), but we make no guarantees about their reliability.  One-way fares vary, but may be around $25-30.

5.  Rent a Car at the Airport- Boston Logan Airport has all the major car rental agencies, with regular shuttle buses that take customers to their faciltities just off the airport grounds.  If you plan to make side trips into Wellesley or Boston during the conference, or just want to get off-campus, this may be your best bet.   Click here for the official list from the Logan Airport site.

Transportation from Amtrak Train Station to Babson College (2 options)

1) Take the Framingham/Worcester Commuter rail to Wellesley Hills. Depending on the time of day, regularly-scheduled trains leave South Station at ½- to 2-hour intervals (Monday-Friday), and 1- to 3-hour intervals (Saturday and Sunday). The trip takes approximately 30 minutes, and a one-way fare is $3. Purchase your ticket in the station, as tickets purchased on the train have a $2 (peak) or $1(off-peak) surcharge. From Wellesley Hills, take a taxi to Babson College. (See “Area Taxis” below.) The taxi fare will be about $5-8 plus tip.

2) Take the "T." From South Station, take the MBTA subway Red Line inbound two stops to Park Street. Walk upstairs and take the Green Line Riverside D train outbound to Woodland, the next-to-last stop on the D line. The “T” fare is $1. Allow about 90 minutes for the total trip. From Woodland, take a taxi to Babson College. (See “Area Taxis” below.) The taxi fare is about $15 plus tip.

Travel from Babson College to Wellesley and Boston.

Though Boston has an extensive public transportation system, it does not extend very close to the Babson College campus.  There is a commuter rail stop (Wellesley Hills on Framingham/Worcester Line) about one mile from campus, but you will probably have to call a local taxi to get you to and from this station.  The nearest T-stop is Riverside, the last stop on the Green Line, about  5 miles and a $15 taxi ride to and from campus.  Wellesley is your typical suburb, so taxis are available on the street - you'll have to call them in advance.

There are restaurants and grocery stores in Wellesley, but all are at least a one mile walk from campus.  In other words, if you plan to travel frequently off-campus into Wellesley or downtown Boston, your best bet is to rent a car at the airport.
